Oink helps crew conquer the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Ocean Challenge.

At Oink we love to support various challenges. From December 2022 until January 2023, we supported Aileen, Corrine, Daisy and Jess when they undertook their Atlantic challenge. We are very proud that our Pork Scratching Snacks helped fuel the team of four women, called Full Throttle Row, to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic in December and January as part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Ocean Challenge. On the 12th of December they departed from La Gomera in the Canaries, competing against over 40 teams participating from around the world. They rowed 2 hours on, 2 hours off and sometimes all night, battling sea sickness, salt sores and sleep deprivation.

The Full Throttle team share a common desire to challenge themselves to the fullest, to immerse themselves within the elements and to push past their comfort zones. This was the ultimate endurance challenge, completely unsupported in an 8-metre ocean rowing boat, which they aptly named the ‘Catch of the Day’. And if that was’t enough of a challenge, they first cycled 600 miles from the UK to the start line in La Gomera, Spain as a little warm up.

During the challenge they raised over £11,000 supporting four charities very close to their hearts; World Vision - Ukraine, Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), Maggie's Cancer Care and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
